Hi! We’re Palmetto Walk Bike.
We’re a statewide nonprofit working to make walking and biking safer and more accessible across South Carolina.
Since 1995, originally as the Palmetto Cycling Coalition, we’ve helped communities build better streets, improve transportation policies, and connect people to the places they need to go.

We advocate for safe, connected options to walk, roll, and bike.
Our goal is a South Carolina where everyone can move safely, no matter how they get around.

From local wins to statewide policy.
We support trail expansions, safer street redesigns, and laws that protect everyone on the move, whether you’re walking to the store or biking to work.

Be a part of the movement!

We’re sharing news, wins, ideas, and lessons from partners and neighbors working to make streets safer in their own backyards.

We’re working to refresh and update our resources to make it easier to find the orgs, businesses, and info supporting walking, biking, transit, and trails in SC.

South Carolina’s Palmetto Stop made history and made headlines. See coverage from across the state and beyond of the new bicycle safety law.

Gov McMaster has signed S812 into law. SC becomes the first East Coast state to fully pass Stop As Yield/Idaho Stop legislation!
